Manoussakis, Y. and D. Amar, Hamiltonian paths and cycles, number of arcs and independence number in digraphs, Discrete Mathematics 105 (1992) 157-172. We let D denote a digraph with n vertices, independence number at least (Y and half-degrees at least k. We give (i) a function f(n, a) (respectively f (n, k, a)) such that any digraph with at least f(n, a) (respectively f(n, k, a)) arcs is Hamiltonian and (ii) a function g(n, a) (respectively g(n, k, a)) such that any digraph with at least g(n, a) (respectively g(n, k, a)) arcs is Hamiltonian connected.

Strongly connected spanning subgraphs with the minimum number of arcs in semicomplete multipartite digraphs
We consider the problem (MSSS) of finding the minimum number of arcs in a spanning strongly connected subgraph of a strongly connected digraph. This problem is NP-hard for general digraphs since it generalizes the hamiltonian cycle problem. We characterize the number of arcs in a minimum spanning strong subgraph for digraphs which are either extended semicomplete or semicomplete bipartite. Our ...
متن کاملPolynomial algorithms for finding paths and cycles in quasi-transitive digraphs
A digraph D is called quasi-transitive if for any triple x, y, z of distinct vertices of D such that (x, y) and (y, z) are arcs of D there is at least one arc from x to z or from z to x. A minimum path factor of a digraph D is a collection of the minimum number of pairwise vertex disjoint paths covering the vertices of D. J. Bang-Jensen and J. Huang conjectured that there exist polynomial algor...
متن کاملIndependent domination in directed graphs
In this paper we initialize the study of independent domination in directed graphs. We show that an independent dominating set of an orientation of a graph is also an independent dominating set of the underlying graph, but that the converse is not true in general. We then prove existence and uniqueness theorems for several classes of digraphs including orientations of complete graphs, paths, tr...
متن کاملCoverings, matchings and paired domination in fuzzy graphs using strong arcs
The concepts of covering and matching in fuzzy graphs using strong arcs are introduced and obtained the relationship between them analogous to Gallai’s results in graphs. The notion of paired domination in fuzzy graphs using strong arcs is also studied. The strong paired domination number γspr of complete fuzzy graph and complete bipartite fuzzy graph is determined and obtained bounds for the s...
متن کاملStrongly Connected Spanning Subdigraphs with the Minimum Number of Arcs in Quasi-transitive Digraphs
We consider the problem (MSSS) of nding a strongly connected spanning subgraph with the minimum number of arcs in a strongly connected digraph. This problem is NP-hard for general digraphs since it generalizes the hamil-tonian cycle problem. We show that the problem is polynomially solvable for quasi-transitive digraphs. We describe the minimum number of arcs in such a spanning subgraph of a qu...
